Acer griseum

The Paperbark maple gets it's name from it's attractive copper-red, exfoliating, paper-like bark.  Prefers well-drained and moist soils, but performs well in clay soils and pH adaptable makes this a suitable tree for almost any yard.  A smaller tree that grows to a maximum height of 20-30 feet.  It can even be used in bonsai   Hardy to USDA zone 4.
