The Red Oak is an attractive, large sized deciduous tree growing 75 to 100 ft. The tree is rounded and ascending with massive branches. Fall color ranges from yellow-brown to russet-red. Likes the sun. Best in sandy loam soils which are well drained and on acidic. Withstands polluted air. Fairly fast growing. Hardy to USDA Zone 4.
